Narbelles WI quiz night raises £404 for Paul Sartori Foundation

NARBERTH’S Women’s Institute, Narbelles WI held a Summer Fun Quiz Night recently, with all proceeds going to the Paul Sartori Foundation.

The event on July 2 raised a great sum of £404.

Programme Secretary Elise Eastoe said: “We owe thanks to Bethesda Baptist Church for the use of the hall, and Manor Wildlife Park and Sharon Williams for kindly donating our top raffle prizes.”

She also thanked “all the attendees who came together for a fun evening, everyone who donated, and all the Narbelles who contributed to the success of the event.

“Congratulations to the quiz winners, the fantastic Burton Pole Dancers!”

Based at Haverfordwest, the Paul Sartori Foundation provides a Hospice at Home Service for over 18’s including end of life care and appropriate equipment. It’s entirely funded through charitable donations and well known for its local charity shops.

The charity has recently launched a new weekly drop-in advice service on Fridays at Withybush Hospital - open between 8.30am and 4.30pm. The new service is based in the Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Service hub, but Paul Sartori is keen to raise awareness that it is not solely a cancer charity, with around a third of those supported living with a non-cancer diagnosis.

The Narbelles are now on their summer break, with a members’ outing to Scolton Manor planned for August.

Next meeting will be on Thursday, September 10, 7pm, at Bethesda Baptist Church Hall, High Street, Narberth SA67 7AP with guest speaker Patricia Vallis, of Silver Swans Ballet.

Autumn meetings will include resin jewellery making with Lesley Jones, the AGM and Christmas Social.
