Mayor of Haverfordwest, Randell Thomas-Turner, said: “Moments like these are among the most meaningful parts of my civic role. To stand in a place dedicated to remembering those who served, those who sacrificed, and those who never returned home is something I will never take for granted.”

The mayor was joined by Deputy Mayor Cllr Adam Benson-Davies, Sheriff of Haverfordwest Cllr Dani Thomas-Turner, the town clerk and deputy town clerk.

“Remembrance is about far more than looking back at history,” he continued. “It is about recognising the courage, bravery and selflessness of the men and women who gave so much so that generations like ours could enjoy the freedoms we have today.

“It is also our responsibility to ensure that their stories are never forgotten, that their sacrifices are never taken for granted, and that the importance of remembrance is passed on to future generations.

“My sincere thanks to everyone who attended, contributed to and helped organise today's commemoration. It was wonderful to see so many people and organisations coming together in a shared moment of reflection and respect.

“We will remember them.”
