Cleddau Flute Choir rehearsals start again this week, at 7pm on Wednesdays in Pembroke.
The flautists have lots of lovely new music to get their lips around. The list includes a lovely arrangement of Calon Lan, Karl Jenkins’ Adiemus, I Dreamed a Dream, My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose and many others.
The ensemble will be preparing these pieces for two important concerts this term; one is a big fundraiser for Wales Air Ambulance and the other is a return visit to St David’s Cathedral.
All the musicians will need to work very hard to learn a completely new programme. Even the man with the golden flute, Sir James Galway, acknowledged the challenge when he said: “I do not consider myself as having mastered the flute, but I get a real kick out of trying.”
