Developers of the £5m luxury Water's Edge apartment scheme at Tenby's South Beach will host a community meeting in the town.

The meeting is being held at the De Valence Pavilion, Upper Frog Street, next Wednesday, February 23, starting at 5.15 for 5.30 pm and due to end at 7 pm.

Matthew Hodgson, of contractors Opco, who is project manager for Water's Edge, said: "We're holding the community meeting to ensure the people of Tenby, especially those in the vicinity of South Beach, are kept fully informed and as up to date as possible, on how this exciting new development for the town is progressing.

"Representatives from the developer, the architects and agents will be present at the meeting. We're looking forward to welcoming local people and answering any queries they may have about Water's Edge."

Mr. Hodgson, who will be on hand to answer questions at the meeting on the night about the 19 apartment scheme, said one concern which had recently been high-lighted was over the future of the historic beacon on South Beach.

Mr Hodgson said: "The beacon, which is an important part of Tenby's maritime heritage, is being fully restored by the developers and will form an iconic centrepiece of completed development."

Water's Edge, idyllically located on the site of the former Fountains Café on South Beach, will see the creation of 19 apartments in a development split over two blocks. A café restaurant will be on the ground floor of building one and under croft parking beneath building two.

The development is due for completion in March 2012.

Water's Edge architects are Powell Dobson, the contractors are Opco, the developer is Wanchai Developments and the selling agents FBM Tenby.
