A committee has been formed to move forward with plans to extend Tenby’s skateboard park overlooking the South Beach.
Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, the town clerk Andrew Davies told members that they were now seeking quotes from firms to carry out the work after several youngsters who used the facility alongside the Jubilee Play Area, had enquired over the possibility of it being made bigger.
“The committee was formed at the meeting and a draft constitution drawn up. The next meeting will take place on Monday, June 26,” explained Mr. Davies.
Somewhere in the region of £130,000 funding is required to enhance and extend the facility councillors have been previously informed.
Clr. Mrs. Tish Rossiter welcomed the move and said that local youngsters should be encouraged to use the skatepark facility, as who knew, with the sport to be included in the next Olympic games, maybe Tenby could have someone competing!
