After a full summer season of outdoor shows and children's holiday workshops, Span Arts is back at the Queen's Hall, Narberth, bursting with enthusiasm for live shows featuring comedy, drama and music. And it's comedy that's king on Thursday, September 20, when Laugh Lines Comedy Club is back for another season of wacky nights full to the brim with unbridled hilarity, clever insults, one liners, punny put downs and regal reposts. To launch the new season the great man himself, Silky, will host a special launch night with a host of talented comics. The first show is headlined by legendary Irish comic Owen O'Neill Owen. O'Neill has established himself as a comedian, writer and actor. He made his TV debut on Saturday Live in 1995 and has since performed on numerous TV shows, including his own TV Stand-up special for the BBC. Owen wrote and starred in 'Shooting to Stardom', a short film for Channel 4, which won best film at the Cork Film Festival and was shown at the Sundance Film Festival to critical acclaim. Also coming to entertain will be Clint Edwards, Welsh comedian Dan Thomas, and Mundo Jazz. Mundo Jazz are a spoof World Music band whose mission is to teach about peace, the environment, racial harmony and love. It's unfortunate, then, that they know absolutely nothing...Worried about your carbon footprint? Don't bother, you can buy one of theirs after the show...Welsh stand-up comic Dan Thomas is a rare prize - a genuinely quick-witted, slightly camp motormouth with a delicious sense of the naughty. It promises to be an outstanding event to get the new season started at the Queen's Hall. Tickets are £8 from Span Arts, tel. 01834 869323.
