A FORMER pupil of Tenby's Greenhill School has just been appointed as one of nine new members of staff at Atlantic College, part of the United World Colleges movement, based in St. Donats Castle, Llantwit Major.
Alexandra Wyn Smith has joined the college's development department as marketing manager after spending the last two years working in a marketing, PR and advertising agency in Belfast, and before that in a full service agency in Cardiff working on a range of public and private accounts.
Alex studied at Greenhill School where she gained her GCSE's and A-levels which enabled her to attend Cardiff University where she achieved a 2.1 honours Psychology BSc, and then went on to do the Chartered Institute of Marketing's Diploma in Marketing and Communications.
This new role marks her return to her native Wales where she looks forward to the challenge of promoting the school to a wide-range of stakeholders and spending more time enjoying the Pembrokeshire coastline.
Atlantic College, meanwhile, is a world-class school for 16 to 18-year-olds, that pioneered diversity in education and strives to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future, through the teaching of the International Baccalaureate and participation in community services.
It's a hugely exciting time at the college as it approaches its 50th anniversary and the principal, Neil Richards, begins work on implementing his vision for its future.
