The cold temperatures are continuing to impact parts of Pembrokeshire today, and conditions are expected to remain challenging until later this evening, with Pembrokeshire Council gritters heading out across the network.
The Local Authority has stated this afternoon (January 6): “Roads may continue to be icy especially on minor roads so please avoid unnecessary journeys as they place additional pressure on emergency services and our highways teams.
“Our crews have been working throughout the day to keep priority routes open and gritters are out across the network this evening.
“We would like to thank our crews and wider staff for their continued commitment towards keeping roads and services operational, and to the public for your patience during the challenging weather conditions.
“The weather has impacted our capacity to undertake a variety of services including waste and recycling collections due to access and health and safety concerns.”
PCC is asking communities to be patient as it works through the routes. Residents can see updates on waste and recycling disruptions at the following link, as these will extend in to next week: https://www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/.../waste-and-recycling...
The Local Authority stated that there are no planned school closures tomorrow, but please visit our dedicated schools closure page: www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk/school-closures
