Pembrokeshire runners are getting behind a man who is attempting to run an incredible 401 marathons in 401 days.
Ben Smith is trying to break a world record, while raising awareness about bullying issues in society, and £250,000 for charity.
He is being supported on Saturday, August 27, by the Colby Parkrun community which is hosting him and organising his route.
Regular Parkrunner Reggie Bevan, of Tavernspite, said: “I read about Ben’s amazing run on the BBC website and wondered if he was coming to our area and if we could help.
“He is running into Haverfordwest on the Friday, so we are going to pick him up and run back to the town with him the following day.”
Ben will start Saturday’s marathon by taking part in Colby Parkrun - the weekly free, timed 5km run that takes place at the National Trust property at 9 am every Saturday.
“Our Parkrun is just over two years old now and it’s going from strength to strength,” added Reggie. “We regularly have more than 150 people taking part.”
A group of Parkrunners will accompany Ben on all or part of his 26-mile journey to Haverfordwest, following a route through Narberth and Canaston Woods.
“We would love to give Ben some strong support on his South Pembrokeshire marathon and if anyone else would like to join him on the day, then please do come along to Colby by 9 am,” added Reggie.
