A well-attended coffee morning held at Lawrenny commenced the Carew and Cresswell Quay Cancer Research Committee’s fundraising events for 2017.
Mary welcomed everyone and invited them to share in the refreshments of coffee, homemade Welsh cakes and sausage rolls.
The raffle was a great success. Winners were: biscuits - Colin Davies and Malcolm Richards; toiletries - Maurice Cole, Margaret and Jeanette - Hazelbrook; wine - Brenda Waters and Gene Smith; Easter eggs - Maurice Cole, Enid Rhys Jones, Yasmin Chandler and Marjorie Davies. Marina James won a picture and Eileen Phillips a pot plant.
The event made £592.08, a wonderful start to the year.
Roly Edwards also presented a cheque for £235, money from the Cricket Club quiz nights, while Pisgah Baptist Chapel presented the treasurer with a cheque for £600 from the Christmas concert and Christmas Day collections.
We have so many wonderful supporters and our thanks go to them all.
One day we will beat cancer.
