Despite the horrendous weather, over 150 people turned out to enjoy 'Cocktails and Canapés at 'Vincents', the final fund-raiser of the Paul Sartori silver jubilee year on Thursday evening. The jubilee raffle which had been running throughout 2007 was drawn by Paul Davies AM, and the lucky winner of the first prize, a suite of jewellery, was not present and has yet to hear the good news. There were a host of wonderful prizes, all generously donated by businesses of Pembrokeshire, and some from outside the county also. The main sponsor of the evening was Chevron and Phil Thompson was present to lend his support to the success of the evening and he was thanked by chairman Roger Jones for sponsoring Sartori events throughout the year to the tune of £5,000. "I am absolutely amazed and delighted that so many came to support our evening; the hard work of the volunteers who organised the event has certainly paid dividends," said Lorna Johns, hospice director. "Sarah and Lindsay, of Vincent Davies, have been marvellous in their personal support of the foundation and were excellent cocktail shakers during the evening. "A special Paul Sartori cocktail was blended for the night, in the corporate blue and white colours of the foundation. Also, as a special gift, the store was opened for the evening guests. Our patients will benefit enormously from the generosity of all on this evening." All raffle winners will be contacted by staff based at Sartori Head Office in Haven Road, a list of named winners will also be printed on the foundation's website.
