Tenby's cobbled streets are in serious need of repair and review, a local councillor claimed this week.
"Little maintenance is carried out on the cobbles and they are all 'higgledy piggledy' at the moment," commented Clr. Trevor Hallett at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council.
"The cobbles are leaving large pools of water and cars are splashing people; you only have to look at them to see that someone soon is going to fall on them and break their neck.
"They are simply not a good idea to have in an area where moving traffic is concerned. A massive upgrade is needed on getting them sorted out,' he continued.
Clr. Will Rossiter said that a lot of the problems stemmed from the cobbles not being put back properly when any work was carried out.
"Personally, I like them, but I'd like to see them maintained properly," he said.
Deputy Mayor, Clr. Paul Rapi felt that the cleaning machine that went around the town sucking up rubbish on the streets, didn't help with ensuring the cobbles stayed in place.
Councillors agreed that a letter should be sent to Pembrokeshire County Council asking for a review of the cobbled areas of the town.
