Each year Tenby Coastguard and families make a special effort to raise money for local charities. This year they have organised a 'push/pull' of their Coast Rescue Vehicle around the town of Tenby and Saundersfoot, followed by a Cliff Rescue demonstration either next to the Imperial Hotel or some location along the south side of Tenby tomorrow (Saturday, April 22). This year they will be raising money, via kind donations, for Gareth Scotcher Trust Fund. The route on the day will start at the Busy Bee corner, from where the team will push the vehicle up White Lion Street, down the High Street to the Square, along George Street up Frog Street, down the Parade, through the Imperial Arch and back to the town square via Lower Frog Street. Likewise they will be off to Saundersfoot and starting at the bottom of St. Brides Hill will then push/pull their vehicle around the village. To complete the day, they will put on a cliff demonstration as a way of a thank you to all those who have supported (call-out status and weather permitting) in the Tenby area. Financially, local businesses have already been very generous. On the day, the team and friends will be flanking the Coast Rescue Vehicle with several eager money collectors - hoping for as much support from all present in the town. "If we can push/pull this 2.4 ton rescue vehicle around we, your local Cliff Rescue Team have every confidence everyone we meet will support us ensuring the Gareth Scotcher Trust Fund receives the financial boost it thoroughly deserves," said a spokesman Timings: Tenby push approx. start 11-11.30 am, Saundersfoot 1.30 pm and the cliff demonstration 5 pm (all times subject to call-out status and weather).
