Paul Sartori Hospice at Home are delighted to announce, once again, that they have been chosen to benefit from the next round of the Co-op Local Community Funding during 2020/21.

The Co-op Local Community Fund has supported Paul Sartori Hospice at Home previously. More recently the Co-op awarded them £1,838.46 towards the high-quality end-of-life home care support in Pembrokeshire.

At a time when funds are becoming difficult to access, Paul Sartori Hospice at Home is grateful to continue to make a real difference in Pembrokeshire.

The new funding round opened on October 25 and will run until October 23, 2021 to fund a new unique project.

This project will provide tailored guidance on promoting sleep, calm and relaxation for adults experiencing bereavement or caring for a close relative who maybe experiencing emotional or physical pain.

‘Stepping Stone to Hope’ is a collaborative project which will be delivered by the Paul Sartori Complementary Therapy and Adult Bereavement and Counselling Services.

Judith Williams, Grants Coordinator explained: “Once again, we are lucky to have been selected to receive support from the Co-op Local Community Fund.

“During this funding round we will be spreading our message via all of our platforms to make contact with our supporters.

“We will be asking Co-op shoppers to consider choosing us as their local cause to help raise the funds for this new project.

“Many may not be aware that when a member buys selected products or services from the Co-op they can earn a 2 per cent reward for themselves, with a further 2 per cent earned for their local cause. So it is worth signing up.”

Elvire Beijdorff, the Lead Counsellor from Paul Sartori Hospice at Home said: “One of the many challenges grief gives those bereaved is the difficulty of caring for oneself. This project would form a compact, easy to use support package to help ease tensions and promote coping strategies.”

The project is about promoting and utilising self-help techniques, including the practice of simple self-massage, utilising natural remedies and to aid difficulties in sleeping and day-to-day stresses and strains.

“Unique cream blends can be combined to meet the individual’s needs; roll-on lavender blends can be given to promote sleep and techniques on breathing and meditation can also be provided to clients.

Supporters can sign up to Co-op online via www.coop.co.uk/membership and choose Paul Sartori as their local cause. Once again, the local charity is hopeful that when a community comes together that they are able to achieve great things, so are appealing for help in promoting the project to family and friends.
