The Carnival Queen selection has been re-arranged for Friday, June 8, at 6.30 pm in the Queen's Hall.
At a recent meeting, the programme of events were discussed. The grass track organised by Round Table has been cancelled and the Pram Push will now have a new route with the start and finish at the Town Moor.
The Rugby Club is to organise a tug-of-war competition on the Friday and Templeton YFC will have their very popular 'It's A Knockout' on the Thursday.
The Chamber of Trade will sponsor children's entertainers and the Steynton Youth Band on Carnival morning.
Mrs. Sue Harry and Ann Howells are to arrange a children's sports on the Town Moor for Thursday afternoon.
The committee has agreed to purchase a new floral trophy in memory of Mrs. Lorna Bees.
The current 2001 publicity brochure will soon be finalised and local businesses are asked to support this. Suzanne Radford Smith, the publicity officer is currently seeking advertisers.
