A CIVIC reception was recently held in the Mayor's Parlour to commemorate the visit of two American brothers, James and Gailen Braden, whose great-grandfather, Andrew Steven Reed, was Mayor of Tenby in 1857, while their great-great-grandfather, Thomas Kynaston, was owner of Caldey Island up until 1867. Also paying a visit to Tenby at the same time as the Bradens, was their cousin, Larry Bates, who before the trip had never met the two brothers. Pictured at the reception along with the three Americans, James and Gailen Braden and Larry Bates, and their respective wives, are Mayor of Tenby, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, Mayor of Pembroke, Clr. Mrs. Pearl Llewelyn, Deputy Mayor of Haverfordwest, Clr. Alan Bucksfield, Mayor of St. David's, Mr. Paul Taylor, Sheriff of Haverfordwest, Mr. Roy Thomas, along with their spouses and other invited guests.
