Tenby Male Choir's autumn concert at St. Mary's, Pembroke, on Sunday, was outstanding. Their varied repertoire touched all of one's emotions.

The descriptive presentation by MC Mr. David Blackmore, tenor (choir treasurer), and the conducting by musical director, Ian Williams, is really unique to this choir.

The performance of Jill Williams, accompanist, was superb as usual, with every member in total harmony.

The choir sang continually for two hours, beginning with opera, pieces from popular musicals, old and new, interspersed with three sets of solos, two from tenor Paul Varallo, singing six contrasting pieces in Welsh, English and Italian, and one from Tom Pearce, tenor, a founder member, the moving tune 'My Little Welsh Home'.

The congregation were also roused into action during the evening, waving arms and pulling imaginary bells to the tune of 'Grandfather's Clock', just what we needed on an October evening, all being controlled by the skill of Ian Williams - seeing was believing.

The concert finalé was 'made' by visiting members of Pembroke Male Choir, with their president, Mr. Phil Thompson MBE, joining Tenby to sing American Trilogy.

The sum of £500 was raised for the RNLI, made possible by the Rev. Roger Jones for opening the beautiful St. Mary's for the evening, the choir, Mrs. Shirley Wheeler, for hosting supper again this year for the choir at her hotel, the Old King's Arms, Mr. Norman Edwards, the Old King's Arms, for his dedicated support from the outset to Pembroke Guild, donations from loyal local RNLI supporters, the congregation who we could not hold events without, sponsors Mr. Beryn Lewis, Felinfoel Brewery, Mr. Simon Buckley, Evan-Evans Brewery, and finally Pembroke Guild members.

The success of Sunday was down to each and every one of you, a huge thank you on behalf of the RNLI.
