Tenby Male Choir gave a very enjoyable concert in St. Mary's Church last Tuesday evening on behalf of Tenby Friends of Tenovus. The choir was conducted by Ian Williams, the accompanist was Jill Williams, and the compere was David Blackmore.

The choir entertained an enthusiastic audience with a varied programme - from a rousing start with the Welsh hymn 'Rachie' to a beautiful arrangement of 'Shenandoah', and from the 'Rhythm of Life' to the moving songs 'Nirvana' and 'Bui Doi' from the musical 'Miss Saigon'.

Whilst the choir took a break, the audience were entertained by tenor Paul Varallo, followed by 15-year-old Rebecca Hobbs, a talented violinist from Greenhill School, who played 'Polish Dance' by modern composer Edmund Severn, and 'Schindlers List' by John Williams. Later in the programme, she performed 'Hungarian Dance No. 5' by Brahms.

The evening ended with the choir singing 'American Trilogy', followed by a rousing rendition of 'The Saints', for which they were joined by three visitors in the audience who were members of other male voice choirs. It was a stirring finish to a very entertaining evening.

Tenby Friends of Tenovus sincerely thank the choir, the soloists, Ian and Jill, and everyone involved in arranging the concert - and of course the audience! - for helping to raise just over £700 for this cancer charity.
