Local committees of the Cancer Research Campaign Wales have been asked to draw attention to this.
There are between 1,200 and 1,300 new cases of children having cancer in the UK each year.
Types of cancer include leukaemia, brain tumours, cancer of the lymph glands, nerve cells, spine, kidney, soft-tissue and bone.
These days, more than 60 per cent of all children who get cancer are completely cured and some have a cure rate of more than 90 per cent.
The main aim is to ensure successful treatment for lifelong care without side-effects and for children to lead normal lives and be able to have healthy children of their own.
Cancer Research Campaign Wales fund raises for top class doctors and leading scientists in hospitals, medical schools, universities and research institutes across the UK.
This vital work can only be done through the generosity of people.
Throughout December, committees will be fund-raising for children's cancer.
They have been asked to approach schools and organisations for support.
Some suggestions have been Christmas parties, fancy-dress parties, carol singing, cake sales and many more.
Tenby local committee members would be delighted to have the support of the schools approached and other organisations. Any monies raised for this cause should be sent to their treasurer, Mrs. Pat Taylor, 3 Park Terrace, Tenby, cheques being made out to Cancer Research Campaign. Enquiries could also be made to chairperson, Mrs. Louise Spain, on Tenby (01834) 844788.
