Sir,

I am writing in regard to a Sunday lunch I took my children to recently. The place is lovely and one of my children's favourite places to eat. They had the same Sunday lunch as I did, only smaller, so small they had some of my meat, which is fine as I had ample.

My complaint is they charged me full adult price for the children's meals, £25 each. If a child's portion is given, there should be a child's price. I was told I should have ordered from the children's menu.

Why do so-called 'foody' establishments insist on wanting children to eat chips with fried reformed meat.

In France, children can have a child's portion of anything from the adult menu, at a child's price. This is not something encouraged by Saundersfoot and Tenby restaurants. Here our children are expected to eat something unpleasant. If I have a nice meal, I want my children to have one too.

I have a way round it. In future I will order two adult meals and an extra plate, in order to share the two meals between my three children.

I would be interested if anyone has a similar story to mine.
