A child was airlifted to hospital on Wednesday afternoon after being involved in a road traffic collision with a 4x4 vehicle.

The accident occurred at approximately 4 pm in Station Road, Whitland.

The child sustained serious head and leg injuries and was flown to Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest.

He was later transferred to the Heath Hospital in Cardiff.

Yesterday (Thursday), police said he remained in a 'stable condition'.
