Whitland Post Office is set to reopen in March, with the branch set to resume full services under a new postmaster at the original location on St John Street.
The branch has been closed since August 2022 following the resignation of the previous postmaster.
The Post Office will be operating from the same premises at 13 St John Street [SA34 0AN] under a new Postmaster and will offer a full range of Post Office services.
Since the closure, an interim mobile Post Office has been operating from King Edward Street Car Park. This mobile service will cease on Thursday,February 26 at 10.45am, ahead of the permanent branch re-opening.
The Post Office will re-open on Thursday, March 5 at 1pm.
It will operate from the hours of 9am to 5.30pm, from Monday to Saturday.
“I know this has been a real inconvenience for many residents,” remarked Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire Senedd Member, Samuel Kurtz.
“I am sure the local community will join me in welcoming the return of this essential service.
“Please do share this information with friends, neighbours and local groups, so everyone is aware of the arrangements.”

Cllr Sue Allen, County Councillor for Whitland and Henllanfallteg, remarked: “Thanks to the Newsagents for taking this service on in the centre of town and the mobile van was appreciated but finishes at the end of February so there may possibly be a small gap in Post Office service.”
Post Office Area Change Manager, Fiona Shanahan shared: “I know that the local community will join me in welcoming this good news and hope that you and our customers will continue to use this service.
“If there are any unforeseen changes to the opening date, posters will be displayed in branch to let customers know.”
