The chief charity commissioner for England and Wales, John Stoker, paid a visit to Narberth on Wednesday.

Speaking at a commission event at the town's Queen's Hall, Mr. Stoker told voluntary sector delegates that the charity commission was to open an office in Wales.

Making the announcement, which heralds the first permanent office for charity regulation inside the Welsh border, Mr. Stoker said that the charities regulator would work to establish the new office for April 1, 2004.

He is seen here with Anne Moazzen, director of PAVS, Ieuan Williams, director of CAVS, and Paul Dunhill, of the Voluntary Sector team at the Welsh Assembly Government.
