May could not have got off to a better start for Ruth Webb and her friends. They were delighted to hand over a cheque for £1,285 to the Ty Hafan Children's Hospice Appeal - the only hospice in Wales for children.
Ruth and friends raised £785 by entering the Boxing Day Swim, for which they won the fancy dress competition as Minnie Mice (or is it mouses).
They also held a sponsored walk around Bosherston Lily Ponds, attended by numerous other friends and family
Max Knight also held a Ty Hafan dinner at her home when she prepared a three-course meal for 24 members of Tangent Club.
Ruth, who works at Lloyds TSB Bank, was able to obtain a further £500 from the 'Staff Charity Matched Giving Scheme', for which she is very grateful.
Phil Thomas received the cheque on behalf of Ty Hafan. He was delighted to receive the money and confirmed that it would be put to good use.
This was his second visit to Tenby in as many months, for he recently received a cheque for £16,000-plus from Ladies Circle Area 46.
He thanked the girls for their hard work and initiative and also the people who had so willingly and generously sponsored them in their charitable ventures.
