The mystery surrounding a strange looking substance washed up on Tenby's South Beach this week appears to have been solved. First believed to have been possibly cheese, the three-foot by two-foot drum-shaped block is said to be octosane wax washed off a ship in the Scilly Isles. "It is non-hazardous and there is no risk to water or land," said Len Mullins, Pembrokeshire County Council's press and public relations officer. Similar blocks of the wax have also been washed up on beaches in Carmarthenshire. The wax, found halfway between the Fountains Cafe and the entrance to Kiln Park, was disposed of by Pembrokeshire County Council.
