Pembrokeshire Police are inviting anyone interested in becoming a neighbourhood watch co-ordinator to a 'Cheese and Crime' evening. The event is open to all current co-ordinators and anyone interested in setting up the scheme. It is an opportunity for people to meet other co- ordinators, find out about the scheme and other initiatives being run by Pembrokeshire Police. Community safety officer, PC Sue Blacklaw-Jones said: "Neighbourhood Watch is a vital part of Neighbourhood Policing. "Unfortunately, over the last few years, some of the schemes have not received as much support from the police as we would have liked. "Now we have our Neighbourhood Policing Teams set up, each scheme will have a named police contact who will help support their scheme. "The 'Cheese and Crime' evening is an ideal opportunity for co-ordinators and potential co- ordinators to come and meet their local police contact and find out how they can help us to reduce the fear of crime in our communities," she added. The event is taking place on Thursday, September 20, at the Withybush Showground. Anyone wishing to attend should contact PC Blacklaw-Jones on 0845 330 2000 for details.
