PICTURED is Dilys Hanmer, of West Street, Pembroke, receiving her MBE at Buckingham Palace on May 16. Dilys, who was given the award in the New Year's Honours List, has worked for Macmillan Cancer Support for 38 years and is still very active at the age of 86. She founded the Pembroke committee in 1987 and was its chairman for many years. She is now life president and has no intention of retiring. Dilys is very well known in the Narberth and Pendine areas, where she lived for many years before moving to Pembroke. Also seen at the Palace with Dilys are her husband Richard, daughter Mary Gough, and current Pembroke committee chairman, Monica Vanner.
