Tenby retirees and their families and the local community celebrated the Queen’s 90th birthday with a special charity coffee morning at McCarthy and Stone’s Paxton Court development to raise funds for the Wales Air Ambulance.

A cheque for almost £400 was presented to Micaela Poole from the Wales Air Ambulance shop in Tenby, with additional funds raised on the day.

The Homeowners, along with their House Manager, Jackie Rees, decorated Paxton Court with Union Jack bunting and flags, putting everyone in a festive and patriotic mood, and the House Manager plus the homeowners have been busy baking to raise funds with a cake sale and there have been generous donations from the community for an extensive raffle.

Guests enjoyed birthday cake and wine for a midday toast to the Queen, coinciding with the official gun salute in London.

Micaela Poole said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to the residents at Paxton Court for their amazing support and kind donation.?As a charity, we rely on the support of the people of Wales to keep our helicopters flying. The lifesaving donation from the residents at Paxton Court will help us to come to the aid of people across the country!”

Debby Pavitt, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy and Stone South West, comments: “We were delighted to welcome so many Home Owners and local people to Paxton Court to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday and raise funds for such an important local charity. With 80 per cent of the Paxton Courts apartments already sold, it has fast become a thriving community and homeowners were very keen to mark the Queen’s special day in a way that would bring the wider community together.”

The birthday celebrations also proved to be the perfect opportunity for potential purchasers to find out more about the new apartments at Paxton Court, take a tour of the stunning show apartments, and have a chat with McCarthy and Stone’s experienced sale executive, Andrea Chappell, to discuss how downsizing could be the start of an exciting new chapter.

Exclusively for over 55s Paxton Court has been designed so that homeowners are able to retain their independence in the form of home ownership whilst enjoying a beautiful setting and luxuriously appointed accommodation. There are only five apartments remaining in this popular coastal development with interest growing ahead of the busy summer season.
