This week has seen John 'Pip' Phillips and Mim Woodward take on the epic Three Peaks 72-hour Challenge.

On Monday, they were scheduled to tackle the heights of Ben Nevis, Scotland, while on Tuesday, they were expected to hike up Scafell Pike, England, and on Wednesday they planned to scale Snowdonia, North Wales.

Pip, who was born and bred in Narberth and has worked for Pembrokeshire County Council for most of his working life, is raising money on behalf of Narberth Famous Fund Raisers (NFFR), who this year are supporting Martin Roberts Children's Fund and Narberth Fire Brigade's First Responder.

Meanwhile, Mim, a contemporary photographer who lives in Lampeter Velfrey, is helping raise money for Mission Elohim, a school for children living in extreme poverty in Puebio Joven, Peru. Many thanks go to Davies Daihatsu Garage, of Narberth, who have kindly donated the use of a Daihatsi Isuzu Rodeo to make the long journey.

Thanks also go to main sponsors, G. D. Harris Transport, of Templeton, along with all the very generous donations from many others. Thanks also go to Mark and Wendy Woods, of the Angel Inn, Narberth, for sponsoring the commemorative shirts for this challenge, and to David Shakesby, who will be taking a few days off to drive the intrepid climbers to their destinations.

The NFFR committee wished them every success, and look forward to celebrating their safe return with a few bottles of lucozade!
