Two coffee mornings in aid of Children in Need are being held in Broadmoor village next week.

A warm welcome will be provided on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings (November 18 and 19) by Mr. and Mrs. Quirk, residents of Broadmoor.

Both coffee mornings will take place at their home, Darramau, Broadmoor, almost opposite Lyndhurst Avenue. Everyone is invited for refreshments between 10.30 am and 12 noon. Admission and drinks are free of charge, but donations are invited to the Children in Need 'Step to it' appeal.

There will also be a chance to browse the Children in Need catalogue for branded merchandise and gift ideas.

Every penny that is raised by Children in Need events goes to the cause. The interest generated on accumulated funds provides a sufficient budget for promotion, administration and advertising.

Coffee morning organisers Mick and Dot Quirk moved from Kidderminster to Broadmoor a few years ago and are known to many in the area as distributors of the 'Challenge' newspaper. They lend a hand in several chapels and fellowships, including being involved in a children's group in Cold Inn.

Although Dot is no stranger to catering, it will be the first time the Quirks have opened their Broadmoor home for events like these.

Dot explained: "We normally give a donation to Children in Need, but I just thought I'd like to do something more for them this year."
