This year's RWEnpower Charity Challenge weekend incorporating the That'll Be The Day show has raised in excess of £12,500. At a recent cheque presentation event, funds were shared equally between the RNLI (Pembroke Ladies Guild), Wales Air Ambulance and Haverfordwest Rotary Charities including Barnardo's.
Event organiser Phil Thompson said: "This year's event was a sell-out on the two nights and with the generous sponsorship of RWEnpower and generous help and assistance from Folly Farm the event was a huge success. Since the involvement of the Pembroke Power Station site in 2010 the event has now raised over £62,500."
Mair Lewis from Pembroke Power Station said: "We are delighted to sponsor this event which raised so many funds for so many worthy causes."
The Rotary Club of Haverfordwest were heavily involved this year assisting with promotion of the event and ticket selling.
Rotary president Stuart Watt said: "I was very pleased to be offered the opportunity to involve Haverfordwest Rotary Club this year to enable us to give much needed donations to local charities."
Next year's event is booked at Folly Farm on Friday and Saturday, July 11 and 12, when the organising team hope to raise even more money for local charities. Tickets will be on sale very soon.
