A public meeting was held last Wednesday at the Queen's Hall Narberth, to discuss changes to the 50-year-old constitution.
The meeting was opened by the trustee chairperson, Charlie Meredydd, who outlined the proposals that the trustee board wished to make to bring the present constitution up to date and fit for the 21st century.
He said: "The current constitution has served the community of Narberth extremely well all these years and the founders of the Queen's Hall trust knew exactly what they were doing, but times change and we are finding it now restricting.
"We now need to attract new trustees to bring ideas, enthusiasm and energy to help revitalise the hall.
"We believe that the current financial liabilities are putting good people off joining us and the proposed changes would allow this to happen."
The meeting was chaired by the Narberth Mayor, Clr. Colin Williams.
After discussion and questions, he asked the people present if they would agree for the trustees applying to the charity commission for the present charity to be disbanded and a new one, with exactly the same ideals and goals replacing it.
The meeting voted unanimously for the change.
At the annual general meeting that immediately followed the public meeting, the trustees recorded the wishes of the meeting and will now proceed with Welsh Charity Commissions guidance to change the present constitution
