A PEMBROKESHIRE woman Mary Holder has recently published her first book. The ‘So What!’ Theory was written by Mary after having experienced numerous life-changing events, including a near death experience and serious health issues.
Mary from Llanycefn, near Maenclochog, wrote the book to inspire others who have or are currently experiencing difficult times. It focuses on keeping a positive outlook, despite the tough times life often throws at us.
Mary, a lupus sufferer, had an horrific rare allergic reaction to medication for lupus SLE which is an autoimmune disease. The reaction caused second and third degree burns on 98 per cent of her body back in 2011.
“It was very touch and go in intensive care for a while and I wasn’t expected to survive,” said Mary. “It has made me realise that keeping a positive mental attitude throughout my ordeal helped to keep me focused on staying alive.”
The book aims to help the reader to change the way they think about situations affecting them, helping them to stay positive and strong. It includes examples of real-life situations, a self-help section and exercises to try that help keep a positive outlook on life.
“I want to help others who, like me, have been through tough times. I want them to know they are not alone,” added Mary. “We can help ourselves through anything in life by the way that we think and react to a situation.”
Mary has also set up a website with positive quotes and helpful downloads that people can use for free, anytime and anywhere.
The book is available as an e-book or in paperback on Amazon. There is also a link to the book from the website. The website is www.thesowhattheory.com and the book is called The ‘So What!’ Theory.
