Sirs,
My husband and I have just returned from our 14th holiday in Tenby and are not very impressed with the way that the town is going.
It seems to have changed so much since we first started holidaying there. And the change is definitely not for the better.
There are far too many food establishments there now and the quaint little shops that used to be around the town are fast disappearing. Everywhere seems to be turning into fast food takeaways, with Greggs being the latest addition since we came last year. Surely there doesn't need to be so many.
Also, we took a walk around the town one evening and I felt quite intimidated by the amount of people hanging around the town pubs, spilling out onto the pavements, drinking and being quite loud. We had intended on having a drink ourselves, but changed our minds.
It is such a shame that the town is looking so commercialised now. It is not the town we once fell in love with. In fact, we always planned to try and retire to Tenby if and when the chance arose, but have changed our mind now. We won't even be coming for a holiday in the near future, we are so disappointed with it now.
The council should take note when they are letting all of these people open these food outlets. Not all of us come to the seaside to visit these kind of places. Take heed.
Mrs. K. J. Dudley,
Wednesbury.
