EAT PROPERLY AND DROP A FEW POUNDS

Do your food shop online: Ordering shopping and having it delivered makes us less likely to impulse buy snack products. Twenty-nine per cent of shoppers make impulse purchases in store compared to seven per cent who shop online.

Fuel up at the right time: If we’re working during the day, that’s when our muscles and brain need the most energy. Front loading is a technique where we fuel well at breakfast and lunch to provide energy when we need it. For our evening meal, reduce the amount of energy we get from carbohydrates and fill up on foods containing more protein and fat. This naturally encourages the body to break down some fat overnight.

Fight cravings with healthy fat: If you’re craving chocolate, eat a bit of healthy fat - something like a slice of apple with peanut butter on it. The combination of salt and fat stops a sugar craving in its tracks. The body needs fat and if we start cutting it from our diet, we’re missing out on essential fatty acids. This means the body starts craving any fat and chocolate and crisps are usually the first things we reach for!
