A local restaurant welcomed one of the world’s top chefs to their eating establishment on the weekend.
Marco Pierre White popped into seafood specialists the ‘Rib and Oyster’ in Kilgetty for a spot of Sunday lunch, with the TV personality’s dinner comprising scallops as a starter followed by a turbot and lobster thermidor, as well as homemade chips.
“Jake, our chef, obviously did things right because at the end of his meal Marco said it was the best meal he’d eaten in a long time!” said Gavin Davies who opened the restaurant with his wife Lucie last year, after first opening a fishmongers and butchers in the town.
Feedback given by Marco was - “impeccable - and always listen to your wife!”
This wasn’t the first time that Gavin, a fisherman by trade, has met Marco, as he was asked last year to deliver a fresh catch to the ITV studios for a cooking segment on This Morning.
Marco was given a recommendation on Gavin’s business ‘Freshest Catch’ and got in touch with the fisherman to deliver some top quality seafood to use on the TV show.
