Livestock farmers have given their backing to an agricultural supply company's move into livestock feed production by purchasing 250,000 tonnes of the product.

Farmed-owned CCF Ltd., marked this sales milestone for the centenary range at the Pembrokeshire County Show by presenting £700 worth of its products to three lucky farmers.

The names of all farmers who had ordered centenary feed since January 1 were included in the prize draw. Winner of the first prize was Roger Stafford, of Clarbeston Farm, Clarbeston, and the two runners-up were Hugh Thomas, of Nant y Castell, Llwyndrain, and Alan James, of Penbanc, Aberystwyth.

CCF Ltd's general manager, Keith Gosney, says sales of the Centenary range have out-performed all expectations.

"Seven years ago we decided to make some changes and produce our own range of feed which for us was a step into the unknown. We have developed from selling very little tonnage in year one to over 65,000 tonnes today.'

Mr. Gosney believes that its the company's policy of transparency and being prepared always to give farmers the exact formulation of centenary compounds and blends that has made the diets popular with farmers.
