Councillors in Tenby have been given assurances that the town won’t be left ‘short changed’ after a recent cash point crisis at the resort’s banks.
Cash points ran out of money over the recent busy Easter Bank Holiday weekend, drawing criticism from councillors and businesses.
Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, the town clerk, Andrew Davies, told members that he had received responses after contacting the town’s banks regarding the situation.
“Apparently two of the machines had broken down and that’s why they weren’t dispensing any cash. One of the banks said that they would increase their staff level in order to monitor the situation and ensure that the machines are full over any bank holiday period when the banks are closed,” he explained.
