On December 20, Pembrokeshire Climbing Club cast aside their normal attire to don fancy dress to raise money for St. Govan's Coastguard.

Pembroke Leisure Centre saw a couple of Dennis the Menaces, The Incredible Hulk and Buzz Lightyear, to name a few, flexing their muscles on the climbing wall.

Haydn Bateman, of St. Govan's Coastguard, said: "We are very pleased with the donation and will be using it to fund new equipment."

Club social secretary, Elen Jones, said: "I'm pleased with the amount of effort the climbing club put into their costumes and am glad to be able to help the local coastguard as they provide an invaluable service."

Prizes of climbing equipment for the best costumes were kindly donated by Pembrokeshire Outdoors, London Road, and a total of £230 was raised for the charity.

Club secretary, Donna Mawson, commented: "The event was a huge success and it is hoped it will become an annual occurrence. I'd like to thank all who contributed and extend our continued support for St. Govan's Coastguard."
