On Friday, preparations began for this year's Saundersfoot Carnival with the choosing of the 2007 Carnival Queen. With Wacky Wayne's Disco in attendance, youngsters from Saundersfoot gathered at the Sports Club. Chairman of the community council, Clr. Bill Cleevely, and his wife had the arduous task of selecting this year's carnival queen and her attendants. After difficult deliberations, Ellie Harries was elected as the Carnival Queen, with her attendants being Lauren Price and Annie Batten. The Fairy Queen will be Millie Dibble-Chwistek and her attendants will be Alice Sloan and Mollie Lewis. This year's Carnival King will be Adam Muskett, with Scott Cowper as Prince Charming. There will be a meeting next Tuesday, July 3, at 7 pm, at the Sports Club for the mothers of those taking part in this year's carnival. The carnival will be held on Sunday, August 5, with the crowning of the Carnival Queen at 2 pm. Local charities wishing to have stalls at the carnival should contact Roger at the Sports Club for details. Anybody wishing to enter a float should also contact Roger at the club on 813862.
