For the last session before the summer holidays, the club held a sponsored walk, followed by a barbecue (writes J.H.). The evening was well supported by members and their families and thankfully the rain held off.

Members started the evening with the sponsored walk around the lanes and a quiz which Ollie provided. Hopefully this event will help to boost club funds.

Everyone returned to the smell of burgers and sausages, superbly cooked as ever by Gerald. Our thanks to both Gerald and Jenny for giving up their evening to help out.  Janet pulled out all the stops, providing some fabulous cakes.

Mark set-up a water slide, which was a big success. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed whizzing down the hill, assisted by soap and water! Some even went beyond the slide, heading for the mill pond!

This resulted in some very muddy children and shorts - sorry parents! I have my doubts whether some of those shorts will ever be the same colour again!

Strangely, John Brock declined to have a go down the slide - I can't think why - we would have caught you John.

Rev. Alan Jenkins kindly closed the evening with the epilogue and I am sure he also promised that he would go down the water slide next time!

The club will restart in September - details will be in the Tenby Observer.

The trip to the Millennium Stadium is on September 19 and any members wishing to put their names down, please complete the form and return it to Janet or Joe as soon as possible as spaces are limited.

Thanks go to everyone who comes along, giving up their time to help run the club; it is much appreciated - without our volunteers there would be no club, so thank you.
