Carew WI members played their part in making the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II a special event for Carew villagers.

The intrepid band members led the parade with their medley of World War II songs with pupils from Sageston School ably playing their Kazoos and enjoying being part of the band. The parade made its way down to the Sports field where other WI Members were setting up cakes and drinks in the marquee, ultimately raising £150 in aid of The Sandy Bear Children’s Bereavment Charity.

On the following Wednesday members thoroughly enjoyed a day of leisure at National Trust property - Llanerchaeron near Aberaeron culminating in a meal later at Nant Y Ffin Motel. Thanks to Rosemary for organising the day out.

In July members will enjoy a craft session led by the Pisgah Sewing group. Ruth, Margaret and Marina from Milton B team are making the teas.
