IF you're looking to go to a captivating concert of unaccompanied choral music in the near future, then look no further. Edinburgh Camerata is giving a concert to raise funds for the restoration appeal of St. James' Church in Manorbier.

This talented group of 12 young singers at university in the Scottish capital have been put together by Manorbier resident, Will Dawes, a recent graduate of the University of Edinburgh.

As well as exciting pieces by Britten and Stanford, the concert will feature the Welsh premiere of Arvo Pärts' Nunc Dimittis. Pärt has recently been awarded the Classical Brit award for contemporary music, beating composers who have written music for films such as Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings! The piece was commissioned by St. Mary's Cathedral in Edinburgh, and is well worth hearing.

The second half of the concert is light-hearted, featuring arrangements of Gershwin, Conrad etc., including a version of The Marriage of Figaro Overture like you have never heard before!

The concert is on Thursday, June 26, at 7.45 pm, in St. James' Church, Manorbier. Tickets are £5 on the door, with under 16-year-olds getting in free.
