Carew and Cresswell Quay Cancer Research Committee held a successful Christmas coffee morning on November 23. The event was opened by Josephine Tewson, the well-known television actress, who was visiting friends in the area. The sum of £1,200 was raised during the morning. Mr. Maurice Cole, well-known landlord of the Cresselly Arms, handed the chairperson of the committee, Mrs. Mary Scourfield, a cheque for £2,260 following his successful book stall. A cheque for the same amount was handed to a representative of the Paul Sartori Foundation. A cheque for £11,500 will shortly be forwarded to the charity's Cardiff office, money raised from events held during the past year.
