Sir,
I am currently studying for a Masters degree in History and am researching the effects of the 1926 General Strike on the miners of Bonvilles Court Colliery in Saundersfoot, their families and people local to the area. The strike itself began on May 3 with miners not returning to work at Bonvilles Court until the end of October, 1926. The strike had a profound effect on the miners and their families, who had to endure extreme poverty and hardship.
I would be very interested to hear from any of your readers who may have worked at the colliery during the 1920s or perhaps have relatives that did and remember what life was like at this time.
I can be contacted at the address below or on (01834) 812354 or via Email on [email protected]">[email protected].
