Plans for a multi-million pound development at the rear of Saundersfoot's Cambrian Hotel are expected to be given the go-ahead next week.
Pembrokeshire Coast National Park officers are recommending that the application for a mixed commercial and residential project be delegated for approval, now that an element of affordable housing has been introduced into the scheme.
A previous application was refused by members of the development management committee earlier in the year.
Part of the proposed development, comprising 33 flats, four maisonettes and five shops, was initially turned down on the grounds that it did not reflect the strong level of proven need for social housing in the area.
The meeting to decide whether the application by Stakefield (Saundersfoot) Ltd. is given the thumbs up will be held at the National Park Offices at Llanion Park, Pembroke Dock, on Monday.
The developers, however, have already received approval for a £1.5 million part of the scheme featuring 12 flats, the retention of the basement bar and a mews-style development of three shops reached through the former coaching arch in Cambrian Terrace.
The hotel, which has ceased trading, has been closed for sometime while plans for its future have been considered.
