A large scale search was launched on Friday after calls for help were heard coming from the Jenkins Point area at Lawrenny. A call from the police to the coastguards at Milford Haven triggered the search at 1.25 pm on Friday. Coastguard rescue teams from Tenby, St. Govans and Manorbier, Angle RNLI inshore lifeboat and Dyfed Powys Police were all called out to investigate. After some three hours of searching with nothing untoward found, the units were all stood down. The incident was considered a false alarm with good intent.
