A number of guest house proprietors in Tenby's Southcliffe Street have approached town councillors stating that they would like to see the nearby Rectory car park remain open during the winter period. "I've been approached by a few bed and breakfast owners who would like to see the car park open at this time of year, as there is an obvious lack of parking facilities in the area, with residents' parking bays adding to the problem," said Clr. Damian Brown at Tuesday night's meeting of the council. "With Tenby trying to push itself as an all-year-round town for trading, I think it's fair to say that one of it's best parking facilities should remain open through the winter," he added. As the car park is owned by St. Mary's Church, councillors agreed to write to the Hotels and Restaurants Association supporting the traders' request. The council was also to suggest that an approach be made to the church council with a possible signed petition from the traders.
