A call for better lighting at Tenby's Castle Hill has been made by a town councillor this week.

Clr. Mrs. Trisha Putwain told her colleagues at Tuesday evening's meeting that she was disappointed with how six of the old Victorian lamps situated on the hill had been replaced with open cylinder style designs.

"The new lighting looks ridiculous and scruffy," she said.

"I think we need to push for lighting with some kind of hat covering it so that people who are on Castle Hill can look out to sea over towards Pembrey and Burry Port without being dazzled."

And she added: "I think we should hand the ball over to county council. If they're willing to spend thousands of pounds on a design for Tudor Square that no-one likes, then surely they can spend a little bit on Castle Hill," she added.
