Tenby Coast Rescue Team and the South Pembrokeshire sector manager assisted ambulance personnel with the evacuation of a 67-year-old woman who had fallen down steps onto the beach at Pendine on Sunday. The incident occurred shortly before 6 pm and the woman was holidaying in the area from Greys, Essex. The team were called into action again during the early hours of Monday morning when, along with the Llansteffan Coastguard Rescue Team, and the South Pembs sector manager, they assisted police in the search for a missing 25-year-old man in the Pendine area. With nothing found, the search was postponed and the team were told it would be discussed later if police still needed to locate the male. Tenby's relief inshore lifeboat was launched shortly after 7.30 am on Tuesday following a report from a member of the public that a swimmer had disappeared between Monkstone and Swallowtree. The lifeboat was quickly on the water and made best speed in choppy seas towards Monkstone Point. On reaching Monkstone Point, a search was performed towards Swallowtree. As the lifeboat was searching, the swimmer made a phone call to the Coastguard stating that he had made it ashore safely and was now safe and well. He was met by Tenby Coastguard Team at Saundersfoot Harbour. The lifeboat then returned to station.
